PReSENTATION of the French Association of Refrigeration (AFF)
The Association Française du Froid (AFF) is an association constituted in accordance with the French law of 1901 concerning non-profit organizations, and created in 1908, few months after the 1st International Congress of Refrigeration organized in Paris in the presence of the world’s highest scientific authorities. As a recognized public-interest organization, the Association Française du Froid gathers and represents French industrial and commercial actors from the Refrigeration field (manufacturers, installers, users, industrials, research organizations, specialized education institutions etc.), since more than a century, around common works in favor of innovation, knowledge sharing and a sustainable development of the refrigeration, essential to our societies.
It works with public authorities and helps professionals with regulatory, scientific and technological evolution of the industry both nationally and internationally. It counts around a thousand members.
ITS 3 MAIN MISSIONS:
- Gather and represent the whole refrigeration industry (profession, sectors etc.)
- Assure representativness of these actors towards public authorities
(ministries in charge of sustainable development, agriculture etc.) - Offer exchange opportunities between professionals, share knowledge with different types of audience
(professionals, industrials, public authorities, teachers/students, citizens etc.)

PReSENTATION of the International Institute of Refrigeration (IIR)
The International Institute of Refrigeration (IIR) is an independent intergovernmental organisation.It is the only one in the world to gather scientific and technical knowledge in every sector of refrigeration.
Founded in 1908, it has developed a worldwide network of leading experts.
The IIR is committed to disseminating knowledge of refrigeration to improve the quality of life for all, while respecting the environment and taking into account economic imperatives.
The IIR has resolutely stepped up its efforts to become a major global player taking action to implement sustainable refrigeration in all its uses. This is evidenced by the report on the IIR's 2020 actions according to the UN Sustainable Development Goals available here.
